This Short Animated film is hand-drawn frame by frame, autobiographical project that opens up my wound into the feelings, emotions and experiences that I, an Eastern European immigrant experiences. It is an ode to memories, encounters, and intimate bruises that I have withstand as a Romanian living and growing up in the UK through all the political shifts within the last few years. Brexit, a worldwide pandemic and a neighbouring war within my homeland. ( Ukraine -Russia)

Eastern White stands as both the physical embodiment of my attempt to consolidate with my upbringing & as an on-going final piece that encapsulates the multifaceted cross-cultural landscape of someone that struggled with belonging. It’s a story of self healing and honouring the growth and the hardship that came with being a first generation immigrant.

Some key points and ideas to reflect on throughout this film : classism, immigration, working class, borders, geopolitical importance, Terminology, the meaning of 'white ' privilege and its ties to colonial power, discrimination, racism, ostracization, bullying, homesickness, depression, struggle, loneliness, belonging, community, self-discovery.

This 4-minute animated short in form of a micro anthology is a poetic outcry for gender equality, and a highlight on gender and power-based violence, brought to life by five aspiring female animators from Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania, and Romania.

2D short animated film created within 2 weeks for the Periplus Workshop in Crete Greece documenting the process of bio waste being turned into bio plastic and products that the community can benefit from. The animation is used in local educational institutions to raise interest and awareness in the younger audience locally.
